GOEIC Conformity Assessment Programme
Cotecna is authorised by the General Organisation for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) to issue a Certificate of Conformity for exports of regulated products to Egypt.
Since 2012, we have been an accredited GOEIC company, entitled to accompany both export and import businesses through the Certificate of Conformity process.
Initially, the Egyptian government required companies exporting leather and textile goods to the country to be registered with the General Organisation for Export & Import Control (GOEIC).
In 2016, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade & Industry expanded the list of products covered by GOEIC among widespread changes to the customs clearance procedures. In order to continue to export to Egypt, factories, manufacturers or trademark owners of regulated products had to register with GOEIC. Our accreditation allows us to continue guiding exporters to Egypt despite the new regulations.
Egypt GOEIC Update: Solar Panels Now Regulated
Effective 17 August 2026, photovoltaic solar cell systems and related solar energy products have been added to the Egypt GOEIC Verification of Conformity Programme. Exporters may now require a Certificate of Conformity before shipment to Egypt.

Egypt Conformity Assessment Process
Cotecna is a trusted partner to the Egyptian government and our mandate covers the physical inspection, sampling and testing of goods at laboratories accredited as per ISO 17025.
We can also conduct factory audits to ensure production is compliant with Egyptian standards.
To assess the conformity of a shipment, the Verification of Conformity process will take one of the two following routes, depending on the profile of the exporter:
Route A for exporters with infrequent shipments
Route B for exporters with regular shipments.
