Certificate of Conformity for Consolidated Goods Exported to Zimbabwe

Cotecna is authorized by the Zimbabwe Ministry of Industry & Commerce to issue a Certificate of Conformity for consolidated shipments exported to Zimbabwe.

About the programme

As a trusted Zimbabwe partner, Cotecna is mandated by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to execute the Zimbabwe Consignment Based Conformity Assessment programme for Consolidated Goods.

This programme is for small traders with consolidated cargo or for consolidated cargoes belonging to at least three consignees.

Cotecna’s mandate consists of issuing Certificates of Conformity (COC) for consolidated goods shipped to Zimbabwe. The main objective of this programme is to better protect consumers from substandard, counterfeit and potentially dangerous goods.

The following products will require a mandatory Certificate of Conformity:

  • Building products
  • Petroleum and fuel
  • Petroleum Gases and other Gaseous Hydrocarbons
  • Insecticides, rodenticides, fungicides, herbicides and similar
  • Other articles of plastics and articles of other materials
  • Paper products
  • Optical products
  • Packaging material
  • Electrical/electronic products
  • Body care and health products
  • Automotive and transportation
  • Clothing and textile
  • Toys
  • Used Motor Vehicles and Spare Parts

Zimbabwe conformity assessment process

Cotecna is a trusted partner to the Zimbabwe government. Our mandate covers the physical inspection, sampling and testing of goods at ISO 17025 accredited laboratories.

To assess the conformity of a shipment, the verification of the conformity process will be conducted under what is called “Route D”.
