Strengthening Partnership with KEBS

During her recent visit to Kenya, Cotecna’s Vice President, Lena Södergren, had the opportunity to meet with Ms. Esther Ngari, Managing Director and Council Secretary of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), at their offices in Nairobi. 

This engagement provided a valuable opportunity to connect in person, exchange insights, and further strengthen the relationship between Cotecna and KEBS one of our key partners in the region. Meetings such as these play an important role in aligning priorities, enhancing collaboration, and ensuring that we continue to deliver efficient and reliable services to support international trade. 

The visit also comes at an important moment for Cotecna, following our official appointment as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) for the Kenya Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVOC) programme. This appointment allows Cotecna to issue Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) for regulated exports from China to Kenya, reinforcing our role in supporting compliant and seamless trade flows into the Kenyan market. 

Engaging directly with KEBS leadership reflects our shared commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. As trade volumes continue to grow, strong coordination between regulatory authorities and conformity assessment bodies is essential to ensure smooth processes and reduce delays for exporters and importers alike. 

Beyond the formal discussions, it was equally valuable to see both teams come together, strengthening relationships and building mutual understanding. These moments of connection are key to fostering trust and ensuring effective collaboration moving forward.
