Cotecna Accompanies SON Delegation on Technical Visit to ACT Lab Czech Republic

As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting regulatory authorities and facilitating international trade, Cotecna recently accompanied representatives from the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) on a technical visit to ACT Lab Czech Republic in Prague.

The visit provided the delegation with the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into ACT Lab's advanced testing capabilities and laboratory operations. During the visit, delegates toured the facility, engaged directly with laboratory experts, and explored the role that testing and certification play in ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance with international requirements.

The delegation gained an overview of ACT Lab's expertise in product safety testing for consumer products, including bicycles, e-bikes, helmets, toys, and outdoor sporting goods. The laboratory's testing capabilities help manufacturers meet international safety, quality, and performance standards.

The programme included a guided laboratory tour, technical discussions on testing and conformity assessment activities, and an exchange of best practices aimed at strengthening cooperation and enhancing understanding of global regulatory frameworks.

The Cotecna delegation included Lena Södergren, VP VOC & Africa; Ade Adediran, Country Manager, Cotecna Nigeria; Noor Ul Hassan Mirza, Senior Manager VOC Middle East; and Marisse Mazza, Government Projects Manager.

The SON delegation was headed by Dr Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, Director General of SON, and included Stephen Mohammed Attahiru, Head of the IPCD Department; Uchenna Chukwuemeka Okafor, Chief of Staff; Martin Okechukwu Akuchie, Special Adviser for Special Duties; and Chukwuemeka Chibuzo Okeke, Deputy Chief of Staff.

The delegates were welcomed by ACT Lab representatives Marketa Tumova, Finance and HR Manager, and Rob Kozich, Regional Sales Manager Europe, who shared insights into the laboratory's expertise and capabilities.

The visit reflects Cotecna's commitment to fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technical capacity building among regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders.
