IFS Food Certification

IFS is a common food safety standard that helps retailers to ensure the food safety of their products and monitors the quality level of producers of retailer branded food products.

What is IFS Certification?

An International Featured Standard (IFS) certification shows that the certified company has established processes which are suitable for ensuring food and/or product safety, and that it has considered and implemented customer specifications.

Certification is open to food manufacturers, brokers, logistics providers, manufacturers of household and hygiene products as well as wholesalers. Cotecna provides certification against the IFS Food Standard. The
requirements are related to the quality management system and the HACCP system (Hazard Analysis &
Critical Control Points), supported by detailed prerequisite programmes, that is a set of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and GHP (Good Hygiene Practice) requirements.

Benefits of IFS Food Certification

  4. Fewer recalls
  5. Optimised processes
  6. Greater competitiveness
