Halal Certification

Cotecna is accredited by GCC Accreditation Center (GAC - HPC 0060), notified by the United Arab Emirates MoIAT (Ministry of Industries and Advance Technology) to provide Halal Certification services globally. In addition, Cotecna is accredited for Halal Slaughtering in Kenya.

All Halal Certifications are conducted according to the applicable certification scope.

 

What is Halal Certification

Halal Certification ensures that regulated products comply with Islamic/Shariah standards. Halal products are those determined to be lawful for use or consumption. These products follow specific rules for production, slaughter and other quality standards set by Islamic Sharia.

Halal Certification includes the testing and inspection of products, quality management systems, manufacturing process, and factories to determine compliance.

 

Accreditations

To serve the world with safe food which meet the religious requirements for consumers, Cotecna is :

  • Accredited by the GCC Accreditation Center (GAC - HPC 0060)
  • And Notified from MoIAT (Ministry of Industries and Advance Technology) - United Arab Emirates.

These accreditations enable us to provide the Certificate of Conformity and Shipment Certification to manufactures, processors, hotels, restaurants, packaging companies, slaughterhouses, cosmetic, and perfume products from across the world as required.

 

Halal Certification Scope

Cotecna is authorized to conduct Halal Certification under two scopes

1. Global Accreditation Scope

Our Global Scope covers the Halal Certification for:

  • Food manufacturing
  • Animal feed production
  • Catering
  • Cosmetics
  • Production of food and other packaging material
  • Equipment manufacturing

How to get Halal Certified

To obtain Halal Certification, please take the following steps:

  1. Submit a Completed Cotecna Request for Certification (RFC) form.
  2. We will review your application to determine the applicable certification scope.
  3. Audit to determine halal compliance and required corrective action where required.
  4. Evaluation review followed by a Halal Certification issuance.
  5. Annual surveillance audits to determine continued compliance.

Note: Halal Certification is valid for 3 years and renewal applications must be submitted to Cotecna at least a month before certificate expiration.
