Gabon PROGEC: Are you ready for Jan 1st?

Following the publication of the decree 1080-20, the Gabonese Standardization Agency (AGANOR) announced an evolution of their Verification of Conformity programme PROGEC as of January 1st 2021.

Update on Gabon PROGEC Programme: Following the Decision no. 034.2020 communicated by AGANOR, the end of the transitional period has now been postponed to June 30.2021. Cotecna provides guidance throughout the transition phase to make sure exporters to Gabon are ready on time for the 1st of July 2021.

What is the new list of submitted products?

As of January 1, 2021, the list of regulated products is evolving and will now include all type of products except for foodstuff (HS code 01-24) and drugs (HS code 30).

What is the minimum FOB value?

Currently, the minimum FOB value of a shipment requiring a Certificate of Conformity is 3000€.

On January 1st 2021, AGANOR confirmed the lowering of this requirement to 1000€.

How do I know if I am subject to these new requirements?

If your transport document (Bill of Lading, Airway Bill, etc.) is dated January 1st 2021, it will be imperative to obtain a Certificate of Conformity in order to be subject to the new PROGEC requirements.
