Assistant Regional Business Development Manager

Cotecna is a leading provider of testing, inspection and certification services. Founded in Switzerland in 1974, Cotecna started off as a family business and has now grown to become a world-class international player with over 7000 employees in more than 140 offices across 50 countries.

To initiate and develop business streams for Cotecna’s Agri and Fertilizers businesses. This will require close co-ordination with all concerned countries/regions and members of Sales and Marketing teams.

Main Accountabilities

  • Keep abreast of market trends and developments with regards to the services in the Area.
  • Actively participate in the Area’s strategy - setting exercises
  • Propose, and once approved, implements a development plan for the services in the Area focused on the expansion of existing business flows and the acquisition of new clients.
  • Consequently, establish and execute a marketing and sales strategy.
  • Participate / manger the tenders’ preparation and subsequent presentations and negotiations in the Area.
  • Maintain close coordination and customer relation with the key regional, Global customer present in the Area.
  • Promote commercial inspections for Cotecna affiliates at main destination and origin countries
  • Is directly responsible for the achievement of the yearly targets
  • Monitor the market feedback expressed by the clients’ requirements and defining scope of news services related to the core commercial business.
  • Once applicable, ensures proper utilisation of the Group’s CRM system for the Services in the Area.
  • Works closely with countries/regions and members of Sales and Marketing teams and business lines heads, fostering teamwork spirit and maximizing exchanges for efficiency and revenues purposes.

Qualifications, Experience and Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in international trade or equivalent
  • Proven track-record at Business Development level of Commercial/marketing/customer acquisition, management, and business growth.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Bulk commodity and fertilizers sector, ideally within the Testing, Inspection and Certification business
  • Business development and project management track record.
