This Public Private Partnership enables the deployment of non-intrusive detection technologies and an electronic tracking system that secures the two major corridors leading to Bujumbura.

Under this Build, Operate, Transfer (BOT) agreement, Cotecna will ensure the transfer of the know-how and necessary skills for the ongoing operation of the systems.

In the Republic of Congo, Cotecna Inspection manages a programme of imports physical inspection at destination including the set-up, management and maintenance of several scanners located at the main entry points of the country. Cotecna, in partnership with a leading scanner manufacturer, has installed a sophisticated solution including non-intrusive vehicle and cargo x-ray equipment, weighbridges, container/vehicle ID number automatic recognition and CCTV at different sites throughout El Salvador.

This modern and highly integrated project, which is part of the government of El Salvador’s Customs modernization programme, was designed by Cotecna, a recognized leader in vehicle and cargo scanning services. Cotecna operates and maintains fully the solution for the benefit of the Client.

Equipment and infrastructure has been deployed at main land borders and ports in the country. The centre of command and image analysis includes a dedicated and secured communication network that connects scanning sites with the centre of command to enhance an effective trade facilitation and trade security environment.

The Indonesia Import Verification Program (IVP) is mandated by The Ministry of Trade of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and subcontracted to KSO SCISI. Cotecna is one of the overseas surveyors appointed by KSO SCISI and has worked on this program since 2009.

Philippines flag banner

Cotecna Inspection SA is accredited by the Philippine Committee for Accreditation of Cargo Surveying Companies (CACSC), as a bulk and break bulk surveyor for cargo entering the Philippines. Cotecna was the first company to have complied with the requirements set by the Philippine government under their Administrative Order (AO) 243-A stating that, effective January 2010, all bulk and break-bulk cargo entering the Philippines must be inspected by accredited surveying companies at their port of origin.

As an accredited surveyor, Cotecna is required to issue a report on the quantity, grade, etc. of all cargo shipments bound for the Philippines.

The importer complying with this procedure is able to file entries for the imported goods and pay duties, taxes and other fees at the pre-shipment stage. This process helps streamline import procedures for bulk and break-bulk and permits the importer to rapidly clear Customs upon arrival.

Saudi Arabia

Cotecna became active in Senegal in 2001 offering an import verification programme, combining pre-shipment inspection services and scanning at destination, plus a transit monitoring programme (Cotrack®) contributing to Customs modernization and enhanced trade facilitation.

Since then, Cotecna was awarded a new mandate that involves the continuation of activities related to the existing import verification programme, and the development of transit monitoring and scanner services, as well as services optimizing data integration.

Togo flag banner

Cotecna was awarded a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) contract by the government of Togo in 1995. 

In 2003, Cotecna was commissioned to provide, finance, operate and maintain a scanner.  We have also deployed a computerized risk management system (CRMS®) and offered capacity building, valuation and classification services. In March 2006, pre-shipment inspection evolved into a full destination inspection (DI).

In November 2010, the Government of Republic of Togo signed an addendum with Cotecna for the implementation of an advanced e-tracking technology platform in Togo named Cotrack®. This service consists of the monitoring of containers and vehicles from the port of Lomé to the country borders.

Today, further to a contract renewal, the actual scope of services is destination inspection, valuation and classification of goods, CRMS® and scanning operations.
