Coronavirus: A message to our customers

Following the recent outbreak of the Coronavirus in China, Cotecna wants to update you on the potential impacts on your service.

The 2019-nCoV outbreak and response has been accompanied by a massive ‘infodemic’ - an over-abundance of information – some accurate and some not, that makes it hard for people to find trustworthy sources and reliable guidance when they need it. In cooperation with international organizations, Cotecna is monitoring the situation very closely to assess how the outbreak and extended holidays will affect current and upcoming assignments. The impacts from a potentially worsening novel Wuhan Coronavirus outbreak to our business could be severe, but taking these steps now can help us better plan, prepare, and protect our people and operations.

Our offices/laboratories in China were scheduled to reopen after the Chinese New Year holidays on Friday, January 31st. but the Chinese authorities have now extended the national holidays until February 9th. In compliance with the recent decision by the Chinese government to extend the national holidays, our offices/laboratories in Qingdao, Shanghai, and Guangzhou will resume work on February 10th. Cotecna is committed to ensuring the continuity of all our services, and partnering with our clients to support the health and well-being of their people throughout this period of escalated concern and on an ongoing basis.

Cotecna has taken extensive preventive measures for dealing with the Coronavirus, including limiting business trips, encouraging working from home, ensuring each and every employee has a mask while working, regular office disinfection, and enrolment to online training courses. The China management team has been working hard to continually assess the situation and take actions to mitigate the business impact during this special circumstance.

If you have any questions or concerns during this time, please reach out to your Account Manager or email compliance@cotecna.ch.

Sincerely,
