Cotecna will be attending and presenting at this year’s WCO IT/TI Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, on the 12th-14th June.
For the first time, the World Customs Organization (WCO) has merged its two major public-private sector events that contribute to the shaping of Customs technology-related initiatives, namely the Information Technology (IT) Conference & Exhibition and the Technology & Innovation (TI) Forum, into one major event - the WCO IT/TI Conference and Exhibition.
The WCO has dedicated 2019 to transforming borders into SMART (Secure, Measurable, Automated, Risk Management-based and Technology-driven.) borders. In this context, the theme of this year’s conference, “New technologies for SMART borders – New opportunities for Trade, Travel and Transport”, explores the role of Customs and border agencies in exploiting the most recent technological solutions to support not only trade, but also travel and transport, ensuring that all movements across borders are seamless and secure.
In addition to our participation at the event, on June 13th at 3:30pm, William Prevost, Ports & Borders Solutions Manager at Cotecna, will also be presenting a dedicated TechTalk to attendees on the subject of “Shaping technologies for SMART borders”.
The short talk will introduce Cotecna’s SMART borders approach and the key technological components, such as business intelligence, automation, machine learning and non-intrusive inspection (NII), that underpin our field-proven customs solutions.
